Have a complete break from your regular life and come and experience the wilderness of Lapland with your friends or family, tens of kilometres from the nearest town.
On the shore of Lake Iso Vietonen, you will be accommodated in full comfort cottages. During these 8 days, you will enjoy all of the activities that Lapland has to offer. We set-up a program in which you will go deep into all the activities: a long exciting trek with huskies, ½ day excursion on a sleigh pulled by reindeers, full day adventure on a snowmobile, a real day as a Lappish trapper and an energizing walk on snowshoes! All this, within the frozen nature of the arctic winter.
This trip: - gives you activities long enough to really have a real experience of each of them; - allows you to experience and benefit from the extreme peace and quiet of the wilderness surroundings; - provides a professional guide available on site everyday 24H/24 - gives you the pleasure to travel in a medium-sized group (maximum 26 participants)
Day 1 Arrival in Lapland Following your journey by plane and/or train (contact us for details) to Lapland, you will be transferred to your cottages in Raanujärvi. En route you will be taken to Rovaniemi where you will be kitted out with essential winter clothing. Transfer time of about 45 minutes.

Day 2 A day in the life of a trapper Today's adventure is one you will never forget! In the morning we will put on our snowshoes and make our way to the lake to try our hand at ice fishing. Following this we will head to the forest and learn how to make a shelter from nature, as well as making a fire. The guide will also take the opportunity to tell you more about the natural environment of Lapland and the way people used to live. Once your wilderness camp is ready, you will enjoy a nice outdoor snack.

Day 3 Visit of the Reindeer farm on snow mobiles and a trek with reindeers You will leave in the morning by snowmobiles (20km there and back) to the reindeer farm where you will spend half a day. You will be welcomed by a reindeer herder and after practicing the technique of lasso throwing, he will take you for an 8 KM ride (3 hours) on a sleigh pulled by the reindeers. At about half-way, a full lunch will be served around the open-fire, in the forest. Back at the cottages in the afternoon, you will have some free time before dinner is served.

Day 4 Husky safari (20km) After breakfast, participants will enjoy a proper long ride with huskies. The musher will come directly to cottages from where the safari will start. The group will be split into 2 or 3 smaller groups, with departure at different times. The safari will be about 20 KM long, which usually last between 1,5H and 2H depending on the snow conditions. There will be 2 persons per sleigh (or 3 if there are children), who will drive one after another (children sit in the sleigh).

Day 5 Free day Time to relax and enjoy your surroundings!

Day 6 Full day snowmobiling into the wild (6h/70-80km) Today, we will go for a full day deep into the forest on a snowmobile safari through the taiga. Before you jump on snowmobiles, the guide will take the time to give everyone proper driving and safety instructions. The adventure will then begin, following trails through the forest and over frozen lakes and swamps. Several breaks will be made to enjoy the wilderness atmosphere of the area. An outdoor lunch will be prepared around the open-fire. In the afternoon, we will continue to slalom between trees and we will arrive back at the cottages at the end of the day.

Day 7 Snowshoeing trek (3-5h) There is no better way than a snowshoeing trek to enjoy the peace of the arctic nature and its wildlife. After a big breakfast, everyone will put on snowshoes and will go with their guide for an energizing trek. The distance and duration will be decided according to the wishes of the participants, making sure that everyone enjoys the activity. The guide will tell you more about the different animal and plant species of Lapland as well as the way people used to live in such remote and harsh places. Depending on how long the walk will last for each participant, there will be some free time in the afternoon to enjoy the sauna one more time before the departure.

Day 8 Transfer back to the airport After breakfast, you will be transferred back to the airport with a stop on the way to a souvenir shop.
Accommodation Fully furnished and full comfort cottages. 2 cottages have 8 sleeping places, each suitable for one big family or two smaller families. The third cottage has room for 9 + 1 sleeping places, suitable for two or three families. Cottages include kitchen, living room with fireplace and TV, electric sauna.

Included 7 nights in a cottage. All transfers mentioned. All of the excursions and activities mentioned in the program. All of the meals from dinner on day one until breakfast on day 8. An English-speaking guide on site 24h who will be with the participants during all of the excursions. Winter clothing from day one to day eight: overalls, winter hat, scarf, winter gloves, woollen socks, winter boots, balaclava.
