| This circuit will let you discover the littoral of Cape Corsica, flowing and peaceful on the East coast, wild and abrupt on the West side, as well as its inland with a specific and different nature each day. Throughout your stay you will come across many towers, all of them being the keepers of the coasts. You will meet inhabitants proud of their island who will make you share their enthusiasm and will make you discover the Corsican gastronomy. Corsica will not leave you indifferent! |
Day 1 Bastia
The tour starts in Bastia, capital of the North half of Corsica. Depending on your arrival time, you can visit the citadel, the old city and it's little harbor (excellent place for a good diner).

Day 2 From Bastia to Santa Severa
In the morning you take your bicycle and leave northwards; the road follows the coastline. Enjoy the views over the crystal clear waters and the numerous hidden creeks which could shelter you for a swim if you wish to. Throughout the day you will see some Genoese towers and you will ride through several fishing ports. One of the most beautiful is Erbalunga. Don't hesitate to stop for a moment in this charming place.

Day 3 From Santa Severa to Barretalli
You leave the littoral to go in the wild land of Cape Corsica. The nature all around you is surprising. After having crossed the Santa Lucia pass (381 m) you can admire the Seneque tower which rules the area and offers one of the most beautiful panoramic view of the island. Then it goes downhill towards the sea, you can notice a different vegetation here. In the evening, enjoy the sunset over the little creek that shelters the small harbor of Giottani.

Day 4 From Giottani to Albo
A wonderful day to discover the nature of the area. Stop a while at the Marina de Canelle in order to take a refreshing swim in a sea. Go off to explore the perched villages of Canari or Ogliastro. You will stay tonight in the Marina d'Albo where the hotel will surely enchant you.

Day 5 From Albo to Saint-Florent
Today, you will go south. A few kilometers before Nonza, a little path on the right will lead you to a rare black shingle beach. Next, stop a moment at Nonza, one of the most spectacular village of Corsica. From the beautiful Genoese tower you will have a wonderful view on the coast. To access the tower you will have to walk on the flourish alleys of the village. You will the carry on to the south. The landscapes changes to limestone’s mountains and vineyards. At Saint Florent do not miss the citadel and the vibrant atmosphere of this little town.

Day 6 From Saint-Florent to Bastia
You are today going to cross the village of Patrimonio, famous for its vineyards. Lots of wine growers allow you to taste their production; do not hesitate to make a stop in one of these cellars. You will climb the pass of Teghime (+536 Metres); all along the way you will enjoy the view on the Saint Florent Gulf. At the pass you will see the sea from both sides of the island! Your road will continue crossing the village of Cardo and arriving finally to Bastia.
